Hanging pictures up correctly
How to create a unique atmosphere with your pictures
Alignment at the bottom edge
A familiar and harmonious variant is to align the bottom edges of the pictures against an imaginary line. This works simply and without any problems, even without having to attach narrow picture rails upon which the pictures are leaned against the wall. As an alternative, the top edges of the pictures can be arranged along a line.
Pictures at an exhibition
Arranging pictures along a central line, something familiar from exhibitions, also produces an attractive overall impression. To do this, imagine a horizontal line in the centre of the wall, to which the centre of each picture is vertically aligned.
A picture collage can also be arranged around an imaginary cross. To do this, the pictures are arranged around a vertical and a horizontal line. The edges of all pictures are aligned as closely as possible to the intersection of these axes.
Expert tip: optimal picture height
Nothing beats your own taste, but frequently pictures are hung up too high. The rule of thumb is therefore: the picture's centre should be at a height of 1.50 metres (as always, exceptions confirm the rule). The height of the ceiling is not necessarily important here (in the case of particularly high ceilings the absolute picture size is more decisive).
Your picture as a wall decoration

Inward from the outside
For large wall areas one can imagine a right-angled box around the pictures. The pictures follow the outside edge of the frame and fill the entire area. This arrangement is particularly suitable for a large number of pictures in different formats. This example shows a large selection of photo canvas templates.
An impressive gallery of photos of the same format, for example of Photo canvases or normal Digital photos can be conjured onto the wall. For the pictures, you can choose photos from photos that are colour-coordinated with each other. You can order your digital photos directly with the free ifolor digital photo app; the photos receive exactly the format that the pictures themselves have.
Incidentally, you can put together your own exhibition very simply with the wide range of Wall decorations from ifolor.
