When should you send save-the-date cards?
As the name suggests save-the-date cards let your guests know about the time and place of your wedding so that they can mark it in their calendars. Leave out the fine details of the wedding, that comes later in with wedding invites. Usually, the wedding date is linked to the venue, that’s why booking your dream location should be the first thing on your to-do list. As soon as your wedding location is confirmed, you can start sending out save-the-date cards to your guests.
What should you include in your wedding invite?
Your wedding invite should include all the information your guests need, this includes the date, time, and location. Don’t forget to include your contact details along with your maid of honour and best man. If your guests have any questions, they can contact the people involved in the wedding organisation. You could also include some details about some of the wedding activities, to build up some excitement about the big day. Other than that, you can include some suggestions on accommodation and other logistical details. It’s also a great opportunity to provide details about the wedding theme and any other important information that they may need.
Please note: Always include an RSVP date as you will need to know exact numbers to plan the food and seating.
When should you send out your wedding invites?
Usually, wedding invitations are sent three to six months before your wedding. If you sent out save-the-date cards, you can send out the invites a little later; around 3 to 4 months beforehand.
You should consider what time of year you want to marry. If you plan your wedding during the holiday or travel season, consider sending your save-the-date cards or wedding invites nine to twelve months prior. That way your guests can plan their holidays and vacations without missing your wedding.
