What file formats and colour space must my photos have?

Colour space sRGB (we do not recommend Adobe sRGB).

My photos are too dark. Why is that? What can I do to prevent this?
  • Check your camera settings. For most images, your camera’s automatic mode is the best option.
  • If you have edited your photos yourself, deactivate automatic image optimisation in the laboratory.
How do I delete the photos that I have uploaded to the website?

It is not currently possible to delete uploaded photos manually. They are automatically removed 90 days after the products were last saved in the login area. If the photos are not in any product that has been saved or is currently being worked on, they are removed after around 30 days. Otherwise, they are removed automatically after the order has been placed, provided that no further projects have been saved.

Is it possible for the delivery address and billing address to be in different countries?

Unfortunately, it is not possible for the delivery address and billing address to be in different countries.

Photo books

What material are ifolor’s photo books made of?

For our photo books, we use wood-free and very high-quality coated paper. The paper is specially designed for digital and laser printing.

If I start a photo book in the ifolor Designer, is it possible to continue working on it in the ifolor app?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change channels while designing a photo book. It is possible to transfer the project from one PC to another within the same operating system.

What is the difference between Premium photo paper and Deluxe?

Premium:

With the ifolor photo book Premium photo paper, rather than being printed on classic paper, the images are exposed on real photo paper. The paper weighs 340 g/m2. For the inner pages, ifolor offers a choice between matt or glossy photo paper. You can also choose between matt and glossy for the cover.

Thanks to the fanfold binding, the opened pages of the photo book always lie flat, thereby enhancing the presentation of your photos across both pages.

Deluxe:

The photo book Deluxe comes with glossy inner pages on digital printing paper as standard. The paper weighs 170 g/m2. This paper has a slightly glossy shimmer and offers excellent image quality.

The inner pages are also available in high gloss for the photo book Deluxe in A4 format. To achieve the high-gloss effect, the photo book pages are specially coated in a separate production step.

Each photo book Deluxe is protected by a robust hardback cover with a laminated, glossy finish, making it feel really comfortable in your hand.

What is the difference between Soft and Spiral?

The photo book Spiral is held together by a practical and stable spiral binding. The photo book Soft has a soft cover with adhesive binding.

Can I remove the ifolor logo on the back of the photo book?

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to remove the ifolor logo.

How do I edit the photo book on multiple PCs?

Transfer between multiple PCs is possible, provided these are running the same operating system. All ifolor Designer projects are stored on your personal hard drive. Instructions for Windows and Mac can be found here.

Can I import PDF files into my photo book?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to import PDF files into a photo book.

What happens to empty placeholders?

If a placeholder is left empty during the design process, it will not be printed at production stage. The empty placeholder will not be visible on the printed book.

Can I convert my photo book into a PDF?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to convert a photo book into a PDF. As an alternative, however, you can order the ifolor eBook.

How can I share my photo book online?

It is no longer possible to make the photo book available in ifolor Designer. As an alternative, you can also add your photo book to your shopping basket as an eBook.

The eBook is the digital version of your photo book. You can download it after having completed your order and then view and share it for an unlimited period of time. As soon as your photo book has been produced, you will receive a personal download link by e-mail, which is valid for 30 days. The file format for the eBook is EPUB. Viewing it depends on the EPUB reader (free readers are available online). On iOS devices, eBooks can mostly be read via the standard “Books” app. eBooks cannot be edited. Recipients can only view the photo book.

eBook Combi

What is the eBook Combi?

The ifolor eBook Combi is a digitalised form of your photo book. You can open it via a link sent to you with the confirmation of dispatch. For more information, click here.

When will I receive my eBook?

The link to download your eBook will be sent to you by e-mail as soon as your order leaves our premises.

Can I order the eBook at a later date?

Unfortunately, an eBook cannot be ordered at a later date due to technical reasons. If you would like to receive an eBook for a book you ordered in the past, this is only possible by reordering the photo book in physical form.

For how long is the link to the eBook Combi valid?

Within 30 days of the order date, you can download the ifolor eBook Combi as often as you like – including from different devices. Unfortunately, eBooks cannot be ordered at a later date due to technical reasons. If you would like to receive the eBook for a book you ordered in the past, this can only be done by reordering the photo book in physical form.

Why can’t I see my book cover on the eBook?

As with all conventional EPUB formats, the cover is only displayed in the gallery. This is a standard feature of eBooks.

Most of the eBooks produced today are created in EPUB format or similar manufacturer-specific variants that can be automatically adapted to different screen sizes.

The title of the eBook is usually only displayed in the library of the eBook reader. This is generally the case with digital history books, non-fiction, novels and so on.

How do I open my eBook?

The ifolor eBook Combi is created in EPUB format. Please note that it cannot be converted into a PDF document.

An EPUB (eBook) can only be opened by installing a program capable of opening EPUB files. In general, EPUB files are supported by all commercially available eBook reader software. Below are some reliable EPUB readers to choose from.

As the eBook readers are not ifolor’s own programs, we are unable to provide technical support for them.

How do I open my eBook on a Windows computer?

If you selected the eBook option when you ordered your photo book via the ifolor Designer, you will receive an e-mail after your order with a link to download your ifolor eBook Combi. This file allows you to view your photo book on your computer anywhere and at any time. The digital photo book is in EPUB format. This means that you can access it on your Windows PC using the Chrome browser and the Readium extension.

How do I open my eBook in the ifolor app for iOS?
  • Click on the link in the e-mail to download the eBook
  • The Safari browser will display the message “Do you want to download file.EPUB?”
  • When this message appears, tap “Download”
  • In the top right corner of the Safari browser, tap on the blue circle with an arrow pointing down to display downloads
  • Tap on the magnifying glass icon for the eBook file
  • In the next window, tap on the same file again and you will be redirected to the eBook file and can open the eBook
How do I open my eBook in the ifolor app for Android?

For all devices with an Android operating system, we recommend the app “UB Reader”, which you can download from the Google Play Store. The app automatically scans your smartphone for PDF and EPUB files. You can then open and view the downloaded EPUB file on your Android device.

Photos

Why are my photos different sizes?

When you take a photo, it is taken in a certain aspect ratio that determines the image size later on. The length-to-width ratio of the image depends on the camera model or smartphone you use to take the pictures.

Our photo paper is wound on rolls of fixed widths. You can select this width during the ordering process, which will then be the width of your photo. The width corresponds to the following dimensions:

• 9 cm format = 8,9 cm
• 10 cm format = 10,2 cm
• 11 cm format = 11,4 cm
• 13 cm format = 12,7 cm
• 20 cm format = 20,3 cm

Depending on the aspect ratio of your image, the length can vary and will therefore be cut differently. The maximum length of an image is reached at an aspect ratio of 3:2. ifolor supports the most common formats such as 1:1, 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9

Example: If you select a width of 10 cm, the effective size of the developed photo will be between 10.2 cm x 10.2 cm (minimum) and 10.2 cm x 15.3 cm (maximum).

Aspect ratios:
1:1 = 10,2 cm x 10,2 cm
4:3 = 10,2 cm x 13,6 cm
3:2 = 10,2 cm x 15,3 cm
16:9 = 10,2 cm x 15,3 cm (white bar at top and bottom)

The traditional 3:2 format is the maximum aspect ratio and offers the “most” image area. If you send us photos with different aspect ratios to be developed, some photos will therefore be smaller or larger than others.

How do I calculate the aspect ratio and image size?

ifolor photo prints have variable image lengths so that different photo formats can be developed without anything being cut off. The aspect ratio of your digital photos allows you to calculate the exact size of your prints.

1. Determine the aspect ratio In the file properties of your photo, you will find the pixel ratio. The aspect ratio is obtained by dividing the larger by the smaller pixel number.

Example: 3264x2448 pixels
You calculate: 3264/2448 = 1.33 = 4/3
This means your photo has an aspect ratio of 4:3.

2. Calculate the image size Using the known aspect ratio and the desired format for your prints, you can now calculate the size of your developed photo.

For example, if you choose the 10 cm format, the shorter side of your photo will be 10.2 cm. The other side is then determined by the aspect ratio (4:3 in the example).

You calculate: 10.2 cm * 4/3 = 13.6 cm

Your photo with an aspect ratio of 4:3 will therefore be 10.2 cm x 13.6 cm.

Using the same method, you can determine whether the length or width of your photo is too long or too short. If the maximum length is exceeded, the excess image areas will be cut off. If your image does not fill the selected format completely, for example because it is too narrow, white borders will be visible on the prints.

Special features:

Panoramic photo – aspect ratio of 16:9; developed with white edges. Order your panoramic photo in a slightly larger format if necessary.

Square image – aspect ratio of 1:1; the number of pixels is identical for both sides.

What are the exact sizes of the developed digital photos?

The format is given rounded. In the following table you will find the exact dimensions of the developed photo paper.

How do I adjust the aspect ratio on my camera or smartphone?

For digital cameras, you can find the available aspect ratios in the menu settings. Depending on the model, you can set a ratio of 1:1 for square shots or 16:9 for panoramic photos, for example. Please note that the changed aspect ratio is only visible on the display. The viewfinder always shows the same section of the picture. For most models, the aspect ratio is preset to 4:3 or 2:3.

On Android devices, you can find the different aspect ratios in the settings of the camera app or as a quick setting directly on the display in recording mode. Here you can usually choose between 4:3, 1:1 and 16:9. Depending on the device, it may even be possible to select different resolutions for a certain aspect ratio.

When taking photos with an iPhone, the available aspect ratios are displayed directly above the Shutter button in the camera app. By swiping to the left or right you can choose between “Photo” (4:3), “Square” (1:1) and “Pano” (panorama function). To take a panoramic photo, press the Shutter button and slowly move the iPhone’s camera from one side of your shot to the other. However, these extra-wide photos cannot be developed without image loss. Instead, you can use a photo editing program to split the panoramic photo into several photos and have them developed individually. The 16:9 ratio is only available for video in iOS.

Analogue cameras have an aspect ratio of 2:3. This is determined by the film rolls used, which come in 35mm format and can only show this aspect ratio. For this reason, it is not possible to change the aspect ratio in analogue photography.

What resolution do I need for my digital photos to get high quality prints?

In general, the resolution of your photos should be as high as possible for all photo products in order to achieve optimal results. When ordering digital photos, you will be shown a quality message upon uploading the images if the resolution of an image is critical or too low. You can still have low resolution photos developed, but they may have poor image quality.

Tip: For optimal print quality (300 dpi), your digital photo should have the following resolution (in pixels) or sensor resolution (in MP) in a 2:3 ratio:

  • Format 9 cm 1050x1600 pixels or 2.0 MP
  • Format 10 cm 1200x1800 pixels or 2.2 MP
  • Format 11 cm 1350 x 2025 pixels or 2.8 MP
  • Format 13 cm 1500 x 2250 Pixel or 3.4 MP
  • Format 20 cm 2400 x 3600 pixels or 10 MP
Can I add text to my digital photos?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to add text to the front of a photo. However, you can customise the text on the reverse. To do so, just go to “Options” in the dropdown menu. Here you can label the reverse with the file name, the date on which the photo was taken and personalised text of up to 30 characters.

Can I also have colour films developed from a 35 mm camera?

Yes, we can develop 135 mm colour films.

How do I order photos from negatives or from colour film?

To order analogue photos, please send us the negatives or colour films by post. For detailed instructions, click here.

Can I send in disposable cameras for development?

Yes, we can develop 135 mm colour films, which are used by the majority of disposable cameras.

Can I send in photos via CD to be developed?

You can send us a CD with photos using either one of our padded envelopes or a standard envelope. If using a standard envelope, please make sure this is as sturdy as possible to prevent any damage to your CD. In both cases, please note down which picture format you would like.

Can I have digital greyscale images developed?

Digital images can also be developed in shades of grey. Only for analogue colour films are we unfortunately no longer able to offer this option.

Can I have slides developed?

Unfortunately, we cannot develop slides.

Are the matching wall brackets and mounts included in delivery?

They are included with the photo canvas, HD metal print and acrylic glass plate for easy assembly and mounting. The aluminium dibond, the gallery print and the mini wall decoration have mounts already fixed to them. For the wall display, there are mounting grooves on the back of the product.

Are the wall decorations also suitable for outdoor use?

The wall decorations made of acrylic glass, metal or aluminium, are easy to wipe off and can also withstand some spray or dust. However, when choosing a location, you should avoid direct sunlight and direct rain to prevent the colours of your wall decoration from fading. Suitable outdoor locations include covered balconies and terraces or walls with a canopy. Photo canvases, photo posters and the wall display made of wood should not be used outdoors, as the materials will weather quickly.

What is a multi-photo wall decoration?

Our wall decorations are also available as multi-photo wall decorations. These are perfect for displaying a favourite photo or panoramic image in a particularly large format. The three 40x60 cm sections of the decoration make for a spectacular overall effect.

What is the difference between the photo poster and the adhesive photo poster?

As the name suggests, the adhesive photo poster is adhesive and can be hung and removed without tools. The normal photo poster, on the other hand, must be mounted and is made of glossy paper.

For how long do the prints last on a living room wall?

It is difficult to make a statement about the shelf life of the product as this depends on several factors such as sunlight, temperature and humidity, i.e. room climate. According to the manufacturer, the HD metal prints are particularly durable, which is why they are often used by photo artists for exhibitions. Because of their material, acrylic and gallery prints have their own UV protection. In general, however, you should avoid direct sunlight on posters or canvases, for example.

What should I bear in mind when preparing an image for printing? Especially for prints of half a square metre and larger?

It is best to work in sRGB colour space; otherwise no special preparations are necessary.

Which wall decoration will best bring out my colours?

All are equally suitable. For exceptional colour rendering we particularly recommend the HD metal print, which, according to the manufacturer, has outstanding durability. If you prefer a more matt colour rendering without the mirror effects, the aluminium dibond is a good choice. The gallery print is another stylish wall decoration that offers a lot of depth.

How can I creatively design a wall decoration?

What resolution is required for an Aluminium Dibond XXL wall decoration?

For optimal printing results, we recommend a resolution between approx. 3558x1196 px (3600x1200 px) and 3558x2377 px (3600x2400 px), depending on the size equivalent to 4.3 to 8.5 megapixels.

Our wall decorations in XXL format require high-resolution images, as the printed area is very large. It is best to check on your computer during the selection process whether your desired image meets the minimum requirements for printing. The easiest way to find image information such as pixels is to right-click on the image and select Properties/Details. The appearance of an exclamation mark in the ordering process means that the resolution is not sufficient for the desired product. Please choose a smaller product format.

How many images can I fit into a photo calendar?

Depending on the design template and your preferences, you can have one or more photos on each calendar page.

What material is used for the photo calendars?

The pages of your calendar are made of high-quality 250 to 270g/m2 paper. For particularly high-contrast colours we use a complex digital printing process. The wall calendar and the panoramic wall calendar can be ordered with a semi-matt or high-gloss finish. All other calendars have semi-matt calendar pages.

Does the calendar come with holidays included?

For all calendars you can choose the holidays you want to include – either by using the default set for your country or selecting the holidays you want in the ifolor Designer. For the monthly planner and family calendar, you can also use text placeholders to enter personal holidays such as birthdays or your wedding anniversary in the ifolor Designer. Alternatively, you can use clip art or photo placeholders.

How do I personalise the design of my photo calendar?

Where can I find my saved photo book on the website?
  • Open the ifolor homepage
  • Click on “Login” at the top of the page and log in with your e-mail address and password
  • After logging in, your cart will appear in the top right corner. To the left of the cart, you will see a button marked “My products”
  • Click on “My products”, and two categories will appear: “Saved” and “Not saved”
  • In the “Saved” category you will find your saved products

Your photo book will be stored on the website for 90 days from the date of the last change.

For how long will my photo book be stored on the website?

You can only save your photo book on the website if you have a login. The photo book will then be stored for 90 days. Each time you edit or save your photo book, the 90-day period will start over again.

Can I continue working on my photo book on another computer once I have started working on it online on the website?

Yes, provided you have a login and have saved your photo book. You can then log in via the ifolor website as normal and continue editing your saved products.

Why can I not find my photo book online?

Either you have not saved the photo book or the 90-day period has expired, in which case the photo book will be permanently deleted for data protection reasons.

It is taking a long time to upload my photos to the website. What can I do?
  • Check that your photos are in JPEG or JPG format
  • Try to upload the images using an alternative browser, such as Google Chrome
  • If your computer is connected via WiFi, try restarting your router
  • If possible, connect your computer directly to the router using a LAN cable
  • With your Internet browser open, press the Ctrl + F5 keys to refresh the entire page
  • Please try again later

If these suggested solutions do not help, the problem could be due to the size of the images. In other words, your Internet upload speed may not be sufficient to upload the images. In this case, if it is a photo order, please save the images on a data carrier and send it to us. For all other products, please place your order via our software. Download Software.

When designing my photo product on the website, I receive a message about the quality. What does this mean?

The resolution for the desired product is not sufficient and an optimal print result can no longer be guaranteed. Please choose a smaller product format or reduce the image placeholder for a collage, for example.

How do I find my photo book in the ifolor Designer for Windows?
  • Click on “Start” in the bottom left corner of your screen (Windows key + S)
  • Enter the name of the photo book and press the Enter key
  • A new window will open with the search results
  • You can now see where your photo book is saved from the file path of your photo book file
  • Open this path and move the photo book files to the following path: Documents\ifolor\Photobooks
  • Your photo books will now reappear in the ifolor Designer as normal

When designing my photo product in the ifolor Designer for Windows, I receive a message about the quality. What does this mean?

If no message appears when inserting your image, this means it is of sufficient resolution for the desired product. If the yellow message “Resolution acceptable” is displayed, your image just meets the requirements for image resolution, but an optimal print result cannot be guaranteed. If the red message “Resolution too low” is displayed, this means that the resolution is not sufficient for the desired product. In this case, please select a smaller product format or reduce the size of the image.

How do I continue working on my photo book on another computer once I have started working on it in the ifolor Designer for Windows?

You can copy an entire book to another computer by transferring the entire folder marked “Name_of_book”. You will find the respective folder under Start/Documents/ifolor/Photobooks or in Windows Explorer under C:\Users\...Your username...\Documents\ifolor\Photobooks. Store the files in the same folder on your new computer. The folder will be created automatically when you install the ifolor Designer. When you start the newly installed ifolor Designer on your new computer, your books will be displayed on the start screen for you to open.

I am stuck at the “Check your product” stage in the ifolor Designer for Windows and can’t click “OK”. What should I do?

The display of text fields in the product selection and order windows depends on your display settings. If the resolution is set too low or the zoom is set too high, this often prevents the correct display of window contents. First, please close all open programs. Check the following setting in the display options under Windows. You will find the display options in the Control Panel via: Start - Control Panel - Appearance and Themes - Display

How can I create custom page templates and apply them to multiple photo books?
  • Open your photo book in ifolor Designer
  • Create a page or double page that you want to save as a template
  • Now right-click on the background of your template and select:
    Page layout > Save the page
    or
    Page Layout > Save the Double Page
  • Now you will get a message if you want to save the template with or without images.
  • The saved templates are now stored under the tab "Layout" in "Own Pages".
  • Please note that the templates are always only visible with the same formats. e.g. a template in A4 portrait cannot be inserted into a photo book A4 landscape."

How can I align image or text placeholders by element?
  • Open your photo book in ifolor Designer

Why do I need image optimization?

The Image optimization is active by default in ifolor Designer. The Image optimization automatically improves the image quality for physical printing. Only switch it off if you have edited the images yourself.

If the photos have been edited by your photographer, such as wedding pictures (mostly color space, contrast, etc.), it is important that you switch off image optimization when designing one of our products. Otherwise, the activated image optimization would completely overflow the photographer's processing (images are too light/dark, color casts, etc.).

If you have "normal" unedited images, such as smartphone images, it is important that you leave image optimization active when designing one of our products.

How can I turn on/off the image optimization?

Image optimization is active by default in ifolor Designer. There are two ways to switch image optimization on or off.

When you open your project in ifolor Designer, you can switch image optimization on and off individually for each inserted image by right-clicking --> Image optimization.

If you want to switch off image optimization completely, click on the settings at the top left (cogwheel symbol), then select "Images" in the left-hand column and remove the checkmark from "Activate general image optimization in the lab".

How do I get the size I want for photo prints (digital prints)?

The aspect ratio of a photo file determines which paper sizes the photo can be developed in. This can result in different length pages of your prints.

To enable us to develop different photo formats without having to cut off protruding edges, ifolor photo prints are available with variable image lengths for the available paper formats.

You can easily calculate the exact dimensions of your prints.

Why is such a large frame visible on the photo canvas?

When designing photo canvas, it should be noted that part of the image is placed around the wooden frame. Therefore, it may happen that important elements of the image are too close to the edge and they are folded over. To prevent this, you can change the size of the picture.

If the dimensions of the image do not allow it, you can change the design of the photo canvas and choose a template with a frame.

How do I continue working on my photo book on another computer once I have started working on it in the ifolor Designer for Windows?

How do I arrange for my data to be deleted?

You are entitled to inform us in writing at any time if you do not wish your data to be processed any further by us, whereby we reserve the right to process necessary data (e.g. invoice data). We reserve the right to request your identification in a suitable manner for the processing of the above-mentioned requests. How do I change the e-mail address I use to log in?

It is not possible to change the e-mail address you use to log in. To do so, you have to re-register.

How do I delete my ifolor login?

Your online account cannot be deleted manually. All logins will be deactivated after three months of non-use.

For how long does ifolor keep my data online?

Your order is stored in our system for 30 days from the order date before it is permanently deleted from our servers for data protection reasons.

Can I cancel my order?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to cancel an order due to our fully automated production process.

What are ifolor’s delivery times?

Please note that express deliveries or express production are not possible.

Can I change my order after it has been placed?

Orders can no longer be amended, brought forward, cancelled or combined once they have been placed. This is because our production process is largely automated. Please refer to our GTCs.

Orders via our website and our software or apps are separate orders and cannot be merged.

Can I order an old photo product at a later date?

Your product is stored in our system for 30 days from the order date. Photo projects can be ordered at a later date through the shipping confirmation (e-mail).

For data protection reasons, photo projects are permanently deleted from our servers 30 days after the order date, and can no longer be reproduced after this time.

If you placed your order using the ifolor Designer and haven’t deleted the projects, you will be able to order your projects again at any time through the ifolor Designer.

Will I receive an order confirmation?

Immediately after having received your order, we will automatically send out an order confirmation. If you have not received this, please check your spam folder.

If there is no order confirmation in your spam folder either, please let us know your full address, the product selected and the time you placed the order through our contact form.

My delivery has not arrived in full. Will the missing items be delivered at a later date?

Due to the varying production times for individual products and the fully automated production process, it can happen that the order is sent over multiple partial deliveries. Orders can no longer be amended, brought forward, cancelled or combined once they have been placed.

What are the shipping costs?

The amount of the shipping costs – including postage, packing and packaging – will be shown in your shopping cart before you confirm your order. 

When ordering several products within a single order, the shipping costs for the individual products are added together. A 25% discount on this sum is granted when ordering at least two (2) different products. For five (5) or more products, the total discount increases to 50%.

Please note that for paper photos the shipping costs are only charged once. 

Can I combine two orders to save shipping costs?

Orders cannot be combined. Each order triggers a separate job in the system, regardless of the ordering channel, and they cannot be merged. 

Do I have to sign for delivery of my order?

Provided the package fits in your mailbox, you do not have to sign for it when you receive it. Larger parcels are handed over personally by the logistics partner and a signature is required. A signature is also required when collecting a parcel from the post office.

Can I send photo products to my friends and relatives?

Yes, at ifolor it is possible to enter different delivery and billing addresses. You can easily enter a different delivery address during the ordering process. The important thing is that the billing and delivery addresses are in the same country.

Can I subsequently change the delivery address for my order? 

As long as you have not yet sent your order to ifolor, you can change the delivery address at any time. To do so, simply enter an alternative delivery address during the ordering process.

However, once you have sent the order to ifolor, the automatic production process is initiated immediately to ensure the shortest possible delivery time. It is therefore no longer possible to change the delivery address once an order has been placed.

Which shipping partner does ifolor work with? Who delivers the packages?

ifolor works together with the Swiss Post for the dispatch process and with DHL Express Switzerland for bulky goods. The shipping partners deliver your order conveniently to your home or to the delivery address of your choice.

Can I specify the date on which I want ifolor to deliver my parcel? 

Together with its logistics partner, ifolor will do everything possible to deliver your order as quickly as possible. For this purpose, a largely automated production and delivery process is used, which does not allow delivery on a specifically requested delivery date. If you are not at home at the time of delivery, our logistics partner will leave a delivery note.

Do I have to be at home to receive my delivery?

Provided the package fits in your mailbox, you do not have to be at home when your package is delivered. Larger parcels are handed over personally by the logistics partner. If you are not at home when delivery is attempted, a note will be left inviting you to pick up your parcel in person from the post office.

What payment options do you offer?

If ordering via the ifolor website, you can pay by invoice, credit card, Twint, PayPal or PostFinance. If you choose to pay by credit card, PayPal or PostFinance, the amount due for the order will only be charged to your account when the order leaves our premises.

Please note that the available payment methods may vary depending on the ordering channel.

Is there a discount for larger quantities?

We constantly review how our prices in a country compare with our competitors. The aim here is to position ourselves at the lowest cost possible. Most of the competition takes place in the respective countries and not across borders. We are largely successful in this low-cost positioning. We are thus able to fare well in any price comparison in any country and present attractive offers to our customers.

Cross-border comparison is problematic because competition and exchange rates vary from country to country. As a company, we must remain competitive – and it is precisely this competitiveness that we ensure with our pricing policy, among other things.

I have accidentally paid twice. How do I get my money back?

If you have paid twice, please use our contact form to send us your bank details and we will check the incoming payments. If we have received the payment twice, we will be happy to make a return transfer. Please note that return debits to credit cards and PayPal accounts are also made via bank transfer. 

Where can I find my invoice?

You will receive the invoice with the delivery of your order or via e-mail. For partial deliveries, the invoice will be included with the final package. If you have not received an invoice, please use our contact form to notify us of your order number and we will be happy to send you the invoice.

Why am I receiving payment reminders by e-mail?

Since we are an e-commerce company, we will send you the first two payment reminders by e-mail. The third reminder (threat of debt collection) will be sent to you in paper form by letter. This is stipulated in the predefined guidelines of our company. Furthermore, Swiss law does not include any formal requirements for reminders.

How can I pay the new QR-bill?

Since January 2021, ifolor has begun sending QR invoices instead of the previously used payment slips. The QR invoice is recognizable through by the visualisation of the Swiss QR Code on it. This code contains all the essential information for convenient, automatic and efficient payment. As the bill recipient you have various options for paying the QR invoice:

E-banking
Open your e-banking application, scan the Swiss QR Code with the QR reader or with your integrated smartphone camera and complete the payment with one click. Manual typing of payment information is still possible with QR bill.

Mobile Banking
Open your mobile banking app on your smartphone, scan the Swiss QR code with the QR reader function and complete the payment with one tap.

Post Office
The QR invoice also works like a standard payment slip (payment part and receipt) and can be paid at the post office counter or payment machine or sent to the bank by payment order in an envelope.

Special offers & Vouchers

Can vouchers be accumulated?

No, it is not possible to combine multiple vouchers. However, we will calculate the most favourable price for you. This means that if you redeem a voucher code, but some of the products in your shopping cart already have a reduced price, we will charge you the price that is cheaper for each product in your shopping cart. If all selected products in the shopping cart have a reduced price and this is cheaper for you than the discount applied with the voucher code, your voucher code will not be applied and a corresponding message will be displayed.

I wanted to use my voucher, but only the promotion price is being applied. What am I doing wrong?

Our system is designed to always calculate the best price for you. If you benefit more from a promotion, this will be taken into account accordingly.

Can I combine a discount with a gift voucher?

Yes, it is possible to combine a discount with a gift voucher. You can redeem up to five gift vouchers at the same time.

Can I combine multiple discounts?

It is not possible to combine multiple discounts. We recommend that you keep the remaining voucher codes and redeem them with your next order.

What can I do if my voucher doesn’t work?

Please note that it is not possible to combine multiple discounts. Vouchers cannot be combined with ongoing promotions. However, we will calculate the most favourable price for you. I missed happy hour. Can I still benefit from it?

Our happy hour promotion is only valid for online orders in the specified period from 5 pm to 11 pm. This means that we cannot grant you the discount after this time. 

Why is no promotion offered on the photo book Deluxe with 26 pages?

The Deluxe A4 with 26 pages is excluded from any promotion, because we offer it permanently at an introductory price.

Complaint

My product is faulty. What can I do?

You can register the product for the satisfaction guarantee:

  • Open our contact form (click here for the contact form)
  • Describe why the product does not meet your requirements.
  • Please include your contact information, order number and order channel.
  • Include a picture of the complaint which illustrates the issue.
  • Submit the contact form.

Our complaints department will contact you as soon as possible.

Important: Please keep the product in question until your complaint has been processed. In rare cases it may be necessary to return the product in question in order to determine the cause of the complaint.

I was delivered the wrong product. What should I do?

  • To avoid paying for a return shipment, please use the pick@home service offered by Swiss Post
  • With pick@home, you can easily arrange for your return item to be collected from an address of your choice and at a time that suits you. Collection from a company address is also possible
