The innovative ifolor app brings your photo book to life

Whether it’s a house party, birthday or your last weekend trip: the new ifolor “My Moments” app makes photo moments come alive again. What is revolutionary is the interplay between app and photo book: thanks to augmented reality, your photo book pages come to life.

The ifolor “My Moments” app creates personal moments from photos on your smartphone, Facebook and Instagram. The app’s intelligent automatic album creation combines all photos from different sources that come from the same experience into one moment. Anyone who uses Live Photos in their photo book can later point their mobile phone camera at the image and immediately relive it as an animated Live Photo on the phone screen. The static party photo in the photo book comes back to life as a dancing party crowd, the captured ski-jump from the last ski holiday picks up speed again, and the candles flicker once more on the snapshot of last year’s birthday cake.

The most beautiful moments can be relived as moving images and are perfect for giving as gifts. By scanning the QR code in the photo book, the recipient gains access to all Live Photos. The “My Moments” app also leaves open the option of creating your own moments defined by a time period in addition to suggested moments, meaning the yearbook is designed in no time. “The app is a milestone in our company’s digital transformation process. With ‘My Moments’, we are creating a new form of interaction with our photo products that also provides an unexpected moment of happiness,” says Filip P. Schwarz, CEO of ifolor.

For the implementation of the “My Moments” app, ifolor relied on innovation partner Ubique and was thus able to benefit directly from first-hand know-how in the realisation of mobile apps. “We were able to benefit from an ideal setting – ifolor had the courage to try something new with this collaboration and gave us a great deal of freedom and room for ideas and new concepts. It was not about simply making something new; for us, the real customer benefit was always the focus,” says Mathias Wellig, CEO of Ubique. The successful collaboration on the “My Moments” app marks the beginning of a closer partnership between ifolor and Ubique in the context of the digital sales process.

Currently, the Deluxe A5 and Spiral A6 photo book variants are available in black or white. At market launch, delivery of these photo books ordered via the “My Moments” app is limited to Switzerland. An expansion to 15 countries as well as additional photo products with live moments for the app are planned.

Quickly ordered, long-lasting joyThe deliberately simple and intuitive menu navigation also allows those who previously considered ordering a photo book too time-consuming to immortalise their most beautiful experiences. In addition, the app’s features particularly meet the needs of the younger target group to create lasting memories from spontaneous snapshots in just a few clicks and turn them into tangible photo products. With the app for iOS and Android, 23 pages can be inserted using drag and drop.
