Have a motif of your choice that you want to make into a lantern printed as a photo poster in 20 x 60 centimetre format at ifolor. The high-quality digital print is gloss and produced on tough photo paper that can be easily processed and because the paper is coated, no fingerprints are left on the lantern once the photos are stuck on. The paper is also ideal for being backlit.

First of all, remove the top from the blank lantern and attach the tealight holder to the base in the centre. It’s going to be pinned in, so it’s best to scratch the base slightly using a cutter so that it is easier to pierce the metal clips through it.

Now adjust the poster to the width: roll the motif and mark which section of the picture fits into the lantern using a paper clip. A roughly 15 centimetre piece is then trimmed off. It is not recommended that you stick two layers of the poster into the lantern, as not enough light from the candle won’t be able to shine through.

Now stick the poster to the lantern base from the inside. The second step is to glue it to the lantern top. You can opt for spray adhesive or a glue stick – there are also other transparent glues for slightly transparent motifs that do not leave any visible traces at all. Hot glue is also suitable.
